About

 I’ve had the honor of working with The Home Depot’s internal creative marketing department for the last 5.5 years, where I wear many metaphorical hats, so-to-speak. I own copy over multiple departments for the print ad, as well as writing OLA copy for heroes, banner ads, SEO blocks as well as headlines, stories, product copy, offers and disclaimers for print. I also work on special projects in partnership with organizations such as ESPN College Game Day and the U.S. Coastguard. I manage multiple projects at once, and a lot of data, while working cross-channel with varying teams to bridge the communication gaps between design, merchandising, copy and art direction. My job is to keep our brand voice consistent while ensuring we are adhering to copy guidelines, brand standards and legal regulations and requirements.

Online Advertising

From banner ads to heros to content pages that drive engagement, my goal for online copy is to keep the voice clear, concise, engaging and consistent with our brand. I write OLA copy aimed at the specific event, imagery and context of media.

Print

The Home Depot Print Ad is a staple in our stores. It promotes special savings we offer during different events and times of the year, and carries with it a significant lift in sales when it runs. I write headers, stories, offers, disclaimers and product copy for the print ad, owning copy in these categories for multiple departments including Outdoor Garden, Flooring, Storage, Paint, Home Goods, Workshops and more.    

Catalog

The stylish side of Home Depot is showcased in our Catalog, focusing on home decor and more to help our customers curate their perfect home, from seasonal decorations to home furnishings that are right on trend. I ensure that product copy is concise and adheres to our copy guidelines and standards.

SEO

Developing SEO pages that optimize traffic flow to a website is no longer just about the site that uses the "right words" the most. Bots have gotten smarter, and nowadays they look for copy that doesn't just appear appropriately topical, it needs to also feel authentic. My job is to create conscientious copywriting that balances organic voice with targeted text. I  produce pages for The Home Depot that highlight key shopping times of the year, special promotions  or holiday event by optimizing a combination of key words and word play.

Offers

Offers are a core part of consumer business, creating lifts in sales and bringing people to stores. Writing offers involves not only interpreting a discount request from a merchant, but also understanding the legal requirements needed to keep the consumer informed and the company protected. I have spent the last 5 years writing offers and disclaimers for the print ad and online, creating a balance between the demands of merchandising, legal and copy standard language.

Special projects

 I've had the opportunity to write cross-functionally on special projects with many brands the Home Depot has proudly partnered, including print ads in partnership the U.S. Coast Guard and banner ads for OLA in partnership with ESPN College Game Day.
